Susy’s excitement about hosting A Splash of Gin

‘What’s even better than a session of tasting, talking and learning all about wine at a Three Wine Men event? A session which involves A Splash of Gin too, that’s what!

There can’t be many wine events which boast a ‘support act’ of premium gins and their producers too. But that’s what Three Wine Men is bringing to the London, Manchester and Cardiff pre-Christmas tastings for the second year.

And I’m delighted to be heading up A Splash of Gin again. My long experience as a drinks writer and presenter has shown me that many trends come and go but the huge new surge of fine gins – and premium mixers – shows no sign of slowing down! Come along and try some of the very best in an inspiring special area of the Three Wine Men event dedicated to this wonderful spirit.

Best of all, a visit to the Splash of Gin section of the show is included in your ticket price. You’ll not only get to taste many top UK and international gins, but often to chat informally with the distillers themselves. They’ll talk you through the botanical recipes they use, the art of distillation and the perfect long serves or cocktails for their unique gins. Make your way around at your own pace or dive in and out of the Splash of Gin area as you like!

For those who who want to learn about gin in more depth, join one of my masterclasses. You’ll need to buy an extra ticket for these in advance or on the day. Take a seat in the masterclass room and I’ll guide you through a selection of my favourite gins, explaining the origins and botanical recipes for each one. We’ll sip a little neat, then add some fine Luscombe tonic. Towards the end of each gin masterclass you’ll be invited to mix your own bespoke G&T with a proper measure of your favourite gin in the class, your pick of the range of Luscombe tonics and a garnish of your choice. Enjoy your G&T back at the table with your companions, then head back in to join the Three Wine Men.

I hope to see you there – as the boys are fond of saying:  ‘#sipsplendidly! ‘
