What could be better to perk up January than to make exciting new discoveries in wine? And from one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving wine countries of all – Chile. I am thrilled to be hosting the second tasting of the Three Wine Men’s unique Chilean Discovery two-part event in a month’s time.
Chile is a wine country of remarkable diversity. To showcase that I have tasted through a long list of fine Chilean wines and selected three firm favourites that whizz us around the three regional denominations of Costa, Andes and Entre Cordilleras. You’ll be tasting the beautifully crafted Miguel Torres Cordillera Reserva Especial Chardonnay 2019 from Limari Valley (Costa region), Morandé’s smooth and sophisticated Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Maipo (Andes) and the fresh, elegant but rich Ventisquero Vertice 2018 from Colchagua (Entre Cordilleras).
Best of all, you’ll meet the winemakers of all three wines who will be joining us virtually for the event. I’m looking forward to talking with Eduardo Jordon, Ricardo Baettig and Felippe Tosso while we sip their marvellous wines. It’s a great chance to quiz them about the latest developments and the future of Chilean wine as well.
This exciting event is on 28 January, two weeks after Oz Clarke’s own Chilean tasting – ideally book both to taste six fine Chilean wines and have a fully rounded Chilean Discovery during the month of January!
